Research and development

Exploring new ideas and concepts is our motivation to do our own research and development. Since our founding, we are also collaborating with other companies and research institutions that enable us to expand our knowledge. Our expertise lies in the chemistry, battery design, as well as fabrication. These areas are reflected in our R&D programs.

Participations in projects

  • NEO 0268050403006 - Hi-potential batteries
  • NEO T01003 Photo-catalytic water splitting using metal oxides
  • NEO T03019 Alternative cathodes

Electrode materials and synthesis

Nedusa EM has laboratory synthesis capability to produce new materials under different conditions. Amongst others we have worked on the following materials:
  • Cathodes: LiFePO4, LiCoPO4, LiMn2O4, LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4
  • Anodes: LiCrTiO4, Li4Ti5O12, Silicon
  • Electrolytes: Li-phosphorsulfides, ionic liquids

Advanced deposition techniques

Deposition of electrodes through electrospraying: In collaboration with the TU Delft, we are developing an advanced system to deposit nano-structured electrode materials directly onto current collectors of the battery. This will enable batteries with increased power output or enhanced storage capability compared to Li-ion batteries based on traditional electrodes.
